Hallo I am a Schipperke breeder from Holland.

We had for times a litter Schipperkes. Hymke is a daughter of Wyndsong Robin and N.H.S.B. Ninja van het Beukenerf.

Our dog Hymke van het Beukenerf has become 28 june her last litter.

She brought 9 puppies, that was never happened befor as far as I know. She did very well I had also a lot of work with her because she does have only 6 great nippels to give her ofspring milk. Now whe are 3.5 monts later and I have only one male pup left with me here.

They are all grown up to very healty dogs and they are all of them so cute.

I hope my English is good enough to you to read.

Greetings to You from E. Makkink from Holland.

hi guys- 2 issues – iam desperate to get my hands on a little schipp- where can i register interest in puppies when they come about willing to travel anywhere in UK for the right dog – !!

Also can anyone offer any observations about how a schipp will respond to two rather mature, dominant but loveable cats who are well established – i would be looking for a pup only to introduce into the household

cheers

After much searching and waiting we have had the privilege to welcome another schipperke into our family. She has come from Czechoslovakia and is call Kardolka, but our little boy named her Daisy so I guess that is what she is stuck with. She is a complete joy and her and Charlie (little boy) are never far apart. We still miss Ben but daisy brings smiles everyday. The family is complete once again.

Schipps are a little unusual in Australia, and often bring questions from curious onlookers. I call them the best-kept secret of the dog world! Many thanks to Barb Mrowiec of Bateauchien kennels for the latest much-loved addition to our family.

Visitor Comments: Hello there!
I am a proud mom of the most wonderful schipperke in the whole universe named Jake Waffles and will be moving to the UK in about a month. My husband got hired by a UK company so we started the process to bring our little angel too. Sadly he will have to stay with my sister in law for 5 month because of the UK rules that dogs needs a microchip, rabies vaccination right after the microchip has been implanted and a blood test, then he needs to wait 6 months or he will have to spend all that time in a quarantine facility. so we rather have him stay and I will be flying back to California to pick him up. We will love to get him a brother or a sister since he is so playful (crazy to be honest) and LOVES other doggies! please let us know how we can adopt a schip!
Thanks,
Claudia

In july 2005 we found Mr Bilge, accidently advertised in the DIY ads in our local paper,

We had just got a narrowboat and a friend had told us we needed a belgium barge dog, and so with absolutely no knowledge of the breed we acquired Mr Bilge and set off to explore the waterways of england, in no time at all Mr Bilge had promoted himself to High Admiral of all the waterways and the land and anywhere alse.

He loved us and guarded us all his days, We have never known a funnier smarter dog,  he made many good friends on our travels.

Sadly in july 2008 Mr Bilge died and left us absolutely devastated, bereft and dogless. we will never be able to forget him.

I september 2008 after much serching we found Rosie (Caroza Black Rose) a totally different character to Mr Bilge but just as loveable and just as funny, On the way home from picking her up from  Norwich we stopped off at a quiet beach for her to have a wee and a little walky when she ferociously attacked a gigantic frogman who could not stop laughing at  this tiny tiny puppy. true schippe style!

Nite nite Mr Bilge We will never forget you.

Schippes are brlliant little dogs we would recomend one to anybody.

How do you get a schip to stay after 2 years I haven’t figured that out yet.

Visitor Comments: Today is a vey sad day, my schipperke Bella, has really deteriated and will unfortunatly be laid to rest today, Its so awfull to see what she is going through, the tumor on her stomach has spread to her spine and is affecting her back legs. Bella is still the little piglet she has always been and still is eating though, but her breathing is fast and then slow, and she seems to be in great discomfort. I am proud to have given her a lovely life with lots of love. Going to miss you Bella.

Visitor Comments: Hi, I rescued my Schipperke last December. I love this little breed. My boy, Murphy, came to us in a bit of a state. He had been neglected, not beaten, just not cared for properly. His coat was in a terrible condition, a year later and he is fighting fit with a lovely, healthy coat. I don’t think I could be without a Schip now. I also have a GSD and a Springer Spaniel.

Hi,

Have been having a look on occasions at this site since we welcomed in our Schip boy 11 months ago.  I find it quite interesting looking at the results ect as his sire is a UK dog (based here in Australia now), and I get comments from people who look at him and comment that he is not the typical Australian type of Schip but more a UK type.  He has done very well in the show ring up to date (in my opinion anyway) but even more importantly fits into the family well (a big plus when you have 4 children, 2 labs and 2 cats)

Regards,

Leah.

Joanne,

Ihave only read the guest book today after a number of months of not checking on it, so sorry I didn’t give you the answer you were looking for at the time… yes, the short answer is,

A Schipperke went BIS at an all breeds International Ch. show in Sweden over 20 years ago, bred by Dorothy Seaton, sired by Ch. Aradet Cannon Ball Express, the judge was Mrs. Moa Persson, who judges a number of breeds over here in this country and judged BIS at LKA about 3 years ago. She is an all breeds judge, I believe, in Sweden, but has always had a soft spot for Schipperkes.

Mary

The show ‘Catwalk Dogs’ featured a two second shot of Linda Wilson’s Ch. Avidore Diamond Lil (“Alice”) being groomed on the table. What you saw in the ‘trailer adverts’ on telly prior to the show was all that was seen in the show itself, how disappointing!

Having seen a TV programme about schipperkes and read up about the breed I have fallen in love with these delightful little dogs and would love to give a home to one. I would be grateful for any information re your rescue service and puppy availability. I do have a cat so that may be a drawback, and I live near Cardiff so none of your members/breeders are that near.I’ve kept dogs before and I now work part time so would have the time to devote to one.

Visitor Comments: Hi, I have a schipperke aged roughly a year old.  I rescued her a month ago from an animal centre.  I was told she was in there because her previous owner couldn’t handle the fact that all she ever wanted to do was play with her older dog, and to be fair, they thought it best to re-home her.  I was told she was fully house-trained and fine with kids and dogs.  Well, sweet faced, adorable little puppy she may be, however, as hard as I have tried (and I have owned dogs all my life), I can’t seem to break her habit of leaving messages in the house.  The back door is never shut even when raining, and when she is outside playing with my other dog – a border collie she will always go to the toilet in the garden, but at the end of the day when the house is closed down, she will go in the house, almost as a sign of defiance.   I would be delighted to hear from anyone who may have a few words of advice, as I feel this issue needs to be resolved for all of us.
