Bobtail mutation- (Brachyury.)

The club strongly suggests that all breeding dogs be DNA tested for the Bobtail mutation prior to mating. This is to eliminate the possibility of two dogs carrying the Bobtail mutation gene from being bred from. The bobtail to bobtail mating is inutro lethal with embryos dying in the womb and being absorbed by the bitch. If a puppy should be born it will die soon after due to severe deformities.

DNA testing is done by cheek swaps.
